About This Request
Hello everyone, I am reaching out to this community to humbly ask for temporary assistance to keep our home stable during an unexpected and difficult transition for my family. I am an Airborne active duty Specialist in the U.S. Army. My plan was to make the military a lifelong career and retire out of the Army, but my medical situation changed and I am now being medically boarded for separation. This unexpected turn completely upended the path I worked hard for, and it is forcing us to pivot under a tight timeline. To add to the weight of this transition, my wife and I just welcomed our newborn baby into the world. We now have three children total including our one week old. Because of my stationing, we live far away from our hometowns and have zero family nearby to lean on for support. Between inflation, unforeseen expenses, and skyrocketing gas prices, it has been incredibly hard to keep up. I have been driving and filling up my gas tank constantly to get to my wife's frequent pregnancy appointments and now my daily medical board appointments. It got to the point where I was stuck in a cycle of playing catch up, using cash advance apps like Dave just to get to the next payday, and visiting local food pantries just to save a little money where I could. I looked into military options like AER, but they primarily provide loans. Since I am actively separating from active duty and facing an uncertain transition window, taking on more debt is not responsible. I cannot afford another monthly loan payback, and I refuse to put my family into a deeper financial hole. I have always prided myself on providing for my family and handling our missions, so asking for help like this is truly the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But with a newborn baby, the holidays right around the corner, and this major military transition, I know I need the help. We are asking for community assistance to cover exactly one month of our mortgage. If we can just get that crucial wiggle room to step away from the cash advance apps and cover this single month of shelter, I know we will be okay. It will give us the breathing room we need to break the cycle of playing catch up and focus on our newborn care. Every dollar donated goes directly to our mortgage to keep our household stable this month. We deeply appreciate any assistance, prayers, or shares of our link. Thank you for supporting my family.
